The Trail in Winter

The bold colours of TW - Untitled (Chilterns) by Tom Woolford make a stark contrast with the bleached landscape of the Trail in winter. The strong visual impact of Reservoir Of Gods by Faisal Abdu'Allah (FA) is little effected by winter weather. Click here to see a photograph of this sculpture in more clement weather! JC - Touching Earth And Sky by Judith Cowan is softened and partly hidden by the snow which fell in January 2004. Click here to see a rotorscoped video of this sculpture in more clement weather!

In winter, especially after snowfall, the nature of the Trail can change considerably. The bleaching effects of the season strips some of the trees of colour and can leave the sculptures in a state of even greater juxtaposition with their surroundings. In spring, Bluebells return to the Trail, carpeting it in vivid colour.
